The Air Temperature sensor is fitted to the air intake system. It is used to monitor the temperature of the air entering the engine. The engine control module (ECM) uses this information to estimate air density to balance the air and fuel mixture.
The Air Temperature sensor is commonly mounted in the intake manifold allowing the tip to be exposed to air entering the engine. On engines that use mass airflow (MAF) sensors to monitor the volume of air entering the engine, the MAP sensor will also have an air temperature sensor built into it.
Goss have a large range of high-quality aftermarket Air Temperature Sensors, all sourced from OE suppliers. All units have been manufactured to meet or exceed OE specifications.
